SENSORS

A sensor lets an app interact with the environment by detecting motion, location, sound and
more. They are found in the Sensors category of the Palette.

                  TYPES OF SENSORS

There are many different types of sensors as discussed below:
Accelerometer Sensor: It detects phone movement, shakes or tilts. It is used in games for tilt

control, fitness apps for tracking and security apps for drop or theft detection.
Barcode Scanner: It reads codes on objects and is used in apps for shopping, library
                     check-ins and more.

Clock Sensor: It tracks time for timers, alarms and real-time updates, used in apps like alarms,
                     reminders and fitness.

Gyroscope Sensor: It measures device rotation and tilt, used in VR apps and motion-based
                     games.

Hygrometer Sensor: It measures air humidity and is used in weather and agriculture apps to
                     monitor conditions.
Light Sensor: It detects light and is used to adjust screen brightness or enable night mode.

Location Sensor: It uses GPS to find the device’s position.

Magnetic Field Sensor: It detects magnetic fields around the device.

Near Field Communication (NFC) Sensor: It enables devices to share data when close
                     together.
Orientation Sensor: It detects device angle and direction, used in auto-rotate screens,
                     AR apps and camera stabilisation.

Pedometer Sensor: It counts the steps you take while walking or running.

Proximity Sensor: It detects if an object is near the device without touching it.
Thermometer Sensor: It measures the temperature around the device.

RAPID RECALL Tick ( ) if you know this.

                      1. The Location Sensor uses GPS to find the device’s position.

                      2. The Thermometer Sensor measures the temperature around the device.
